Belkin Ships 1 Millionth iPod Accessory; To Celebrate, Belkin Donates Voice Recorders to Duke University Freshmen

COMPTON, Calif. --(Business Wire)-- Aug. 19, 2004 -- Belkin Corporation, the global leader in connectivity solutions, has announced shipment of its one-millionth iPod(TM) accessory. Featuring a wide breadth of accessories designed to enhance the iPod experience, the Belkin iPod accessory line is currently shipping.

Belkin first introduced iPod accessories in April 2003, with the TuneCast(TM) Mobile FM Transmitter, Backup Battery Pack, and Auto Kit--products designed to take advantage of the new capabilities of the third-generation iPod. The TuneDok(TM) car holder and a kit supporting the Apple-Volkswagen "Pods Unite" promotion followed shortly. In October 2003, Belkin, in collaboration with Apple, further enhanced the iPod experience by introducing the industry's first Media Reader and Voice Recorder, allowing you to do more with your iPod. Subsequent product launches have included a Digital Camera Link, Universal Microphone Adapter, and TuneCast II Mobile FM Transmitter.

"For many, the iPod has become a lifestyle," comments Eric Tong, VP Marketing and Product Development. "We aim to create accessories that complement this lifestyle."

To mark this achievement, Belkin will donate 1,650 Voice Recorders to Duke University's incoming freshmen. This week, Duke will distribute iPod MP3 players to freshmen as part of an initiative to encourage creative uses of technology in education and campus life.

"We are pleased that we can support Duke's program to foster creativity in technology and education," continues Tong. "Students will be able to use our Voice Recorder for recording notes and discussions to their iPods."
