The Gilbert Companies Receives Mobilizer 2004 Award; Winning Solution Based on GlobeRanger's iMotion Platform
RICHARDSON, Texas --(Business Wire)-- Aug. 16, 2004 -- The Gilbert Companies, a division of P&O Nedlloyd Logistics and the leading logistics provider for major retail corporations and wholesalers in the United States, today announced that it has been selected to receive a Mobilizer 2004 award for it's innovative deployment and outstanding results from a wireless solution. Gilbert implemented GlobeRanger's wireless Inbound/Outbound Logistics application on the iMotion platform.
Gilbert was awarded Honorable Mention for their deployment of an outbound delivery solution to improve operational efficiency and customer service. GlobeRanger's solution, designed specifically for transportation and logistics providers, was selected by Gilbert to provide the capability for automated data collection, electronic proof of delivery with signature capture, real-time receipt printing and order reconciliation. GlobeRanger also enabled Gilbert to enhance delivery visibility for its customers and provide monitoring and business-rule based alerts.
