Hitachi IT Adds Digital Vein Identification to its Access Control System

Hitachi Information Technology (Hitachi IT) has improved the security functions of its SecureAegis, by introducing Hitachi Software Engineering's digital vein identification technology.

Hitachi IT's PC access control system is now built on a combination of smartcards, passwords, and difficult-to-falsify digital vein identification devices, providing robust security to PCs, enterprise networks, and business information.

Slated for release in July, the system will sell for 700,000 yen ($6,363).
