Ubizen OnlineGuardian Services to Monitor Intrusion Detection Network for Credit Suisse

Ubizen (Euronext: UBIB), a provider of Managed Security Solutions (MSS) for global businesses, announced that Credit Suisse has awarded Ubizen a three-year contract for Ubizen OnlineGuardian managed security services. Credit Suisse Group is a leading global financial services company headquartered in Zurich, Switzerland. Ubizen OnlineGuardian services will monitor the Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) that secure Credit Suisse's IT infrastructure. Ubizen will work with its local Swiss partner ComProSec to set up the services.

IDS are widely used to detect inappropriate, incorrect, or anomalous activity. They apply statistical anomaly and pattern-matching detection techniques to identify malicious traffic passing over a network or accessing a system. IDS complement traditional security controls such as firewalls, virtual private networks and anti-virus systems. Although highly effective, IDS tend to generate a significant amount of so-called false positives, meaning that legitimate traffic is mistakenly marked as malicious.

"Monitoring and tuning a network of Intrusion Detection Systems requires a lot of expertise, specialized technology and efficient operations that all need to be available around the clock," said Ralph Holbein, Chief Information Security Officer at Credit Suisse. "That is why we decided to look for a Managed Security Services partner. After a thorough selection process, we chose Ubizen for the quality of its Ubizen OnlineGuardian services, its experience in monitoring complex IDS networks and its flexibility in tailoring its solution to our specific needs, such as compliance to cross-border data transfer regulation."

"We are very pleased that Credit Suisse selected our Managed Security Services for this exciting project," said Jan De Blauwe, Ubizen's Vice President, Financial Services. "Throughout the entire selection process, Credit Suisse was very clear about the expected service levels and the solid processes and procedures to back those up, which demonstrates the maturity of its security organization. This allowed us to design a solution that both blends well with their existing in-house security competencies and processes and that in addition takes into account the Swiss data privacy rules."
