Tech Data Appoints Three Vice Presidents; Company Names VPs of Corporate Accounting; East & Government Sales; and Human Resources, Europe
CLEARWATER, Fla. --(Business Wire)-- April 20, 2004 -- Tech Data Corporation (Nasdaq:TECD), a leading global distributor of IT products, logistics management and other value-added services, recently named Jeffrey R. Baker vice president of corporate accounting; Joel Davis vice president of east & government sales and services; and W. David Francis vice president of human resources, Europe.
Jeffrey R. Baker, Vice President of Corporate Accounting
Baker has been with Tech Data since 1998 and was recently promoted from director of corporate accounting to vice president of corporate accounting. In his new role, Baker is responsible for all financial reporting functions of Tech Data's worldwide operations. Before joining Tech Data, Baker was a senior auditor with accounting firm Deloitte & Touche LLP in Chicago. He earned a master's degree in accounting from Stetson University in Deland, Fla., and bachelors' degrees in economics and accounting from the University of Florida in Gainesville.
Joel Davis, Vice President of East & Government Sales and Services
A recent addition to Tech Data, Davis has more than two decades of sales and marketing experience in the technology industry. As vice president of east & government sales and services, Davis will oversee all sales within the eastern United States, as well as all government sales and services. Prior to joining Tech Data, he held executive positions with several global technology firms and served as vice president of U.S. sales for technology distributor Ingram Micro Inc. Davis earned a master's degree in finance and a bachelor's degree in marketing from California State University, Fullerton.
W. David Francis, Vice President of Human Resources, Europe
Francis joined Tech Data as director of human resources in 2000. He has more than 10 years of experience in human resource management and development. In his new role, Francis will oversee Tech Data's European human resource programs including the selection, assessment and development of employees, services and benefits. He also will be responsible for employee rewards and recognition. Before Tech Data, he held senior human resource positions with Capital One Financial in Tampa, Fla., General Signal Laboratory Equipment in Asheville, N.C., and Michelin Tire Corp. Francis also was a submarine officer for the U.S. Navy. He earned his master's degree in business administration from the University of South Carolina in Columbia, and his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Virginia Tech in Blacksburg.
