Comcast to Launch NBA TV Among Other Sports Packages Throughout the Dallas Metropolitan Area

IRVING, Texas, April 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Comcast and the National Basketball Association today announced the company is launching NBA TV throughout the Dallas Metropolitan Area on April 23rd. The new channel will be on Digital Extra where these customers are able to view a preview of the programming today. Comcast is also launching pay-per-view sports packages that include MLB EXTRA INNINGS and NHL CENTER ICE.

NBA TV can be found on Comcast Digital Cable channel 439 throughout the area except Irving, Grapevine, Lewisville and Coppell where it is on channel 427. The MLB and NHL sports packages are available to Comcast Digital Cable customers.
Sports fans are always asking for more programs related to their favorite teams, and the launch of NBA TV as well as three top flight sports packages will make Comcast the ultimate place to turn for fans of all sports, said Hank Fore, Vice President and General Manager for Comcast's Dallas Market. There is something for every sports fan available on Comcast, added Fore.
The NBA TV lineup includes more than 95 live regular season games and will feature selected games broadcast in high-definition. The network also televises games from the WNBA, NBDL, Summer League, USA Basketball, International and Euroleague, street ball, vintage NBA and much more. In addition to all of the games, NBA TV produces more than 20 original programs including NBA TV Insiders, Real Playoffs 2004, Gatorade Virtual GM, and Ahmad Rashad One-On-One Basketball International. The network is the premier destination to find behind-the-scenes coverage of all the teams and major events in the NBA.
The MLB EXTRA INNINGS package offers up to 60 regular season, out-of- market games a week. The available games that make up this package are in addition to those seen on FOX, ESPN, ESPN2 and your regional sports networks. This is the ultimate baseball package for fans who like to follow out-of- market teams or fantasy owners who want to keep up with how their players are performing on a nightly basis.
NHL CENTER ICE gives fans access to more than 1,100 NHL games as well as first and second round coverage of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. That means each subscriber gets more than 40 fast, powerful and aggressive games each week. In addition to all of the NHL games, NHL CENTER ICE offers coverage of the World Junior Hockey Championships, the AHL All-Star Game, the ECHL All-Star Game, behind-the-scenes specials and original programming.
