Sprint Becomes Prime Provider of Massachusetts Relay Services
OVERLAND PARK, Kan., April 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Sprint today announced that it has acquired the Massachusetts Relay contract from Vista Information Technologies and will now be the contracted provider for Verizon's Massachusetts Telecommunications Relay Services (TRS). TRS is a service that allows deaf, hard of hearing and speech disabled people to communicate over the phone. Sprint has provided the communications platform for the provision of TRS in Massachusetts since July 2003.

Through this agreement, Sprint has selected Communications Services for the Deaf (CSD) to support the TRS. CSD will manage the operations center in Central Mass., which employs approximately 80 people and was previously owned and managed by Vista. CSD will also provide Video Relay Service (VRS).
