IIJ-MC Releases Japan's First IPv6 Compatible Internet Broadcast Service; For both Media Highway Service and Easy Live Pack TOKYO --(Business Wire)-- April 4, 2004 -- Internet Initiative Japan (IIJ, NASDAQ: IIJI), one of Japan's leading Internet access and comprehensive network solutions providers, today announced that IIJ Media Communications (IIJ-MC), its 50.1% owned subsidiary, releases the official service of full IPv6 (Internet Protocol Version 6) compatibility with the IIJ-MC Internet broadcasting services, Media Highway Service and Easy Live Pack. This is the first Internet broadcasting service in Japan to use the next-generation Internet protocol, IPv6. These services currently support Windows Media and are scheduled to support RealMedia and QuickTime in the near future. There will be no additional charge for IPv6 compatibility.IIJ-MC built and operates the stable streaming media environments used by famous musical performers such as B'z and Ayumi Hamasaki using the latest Internet applications and Japan's largest backbone infrastructure, provided by Internet Initiative Japan, Inc. (IIJ). Building upon these achievements and in response to the needs of early adopters of the new IPv6 standard, IIJ-MC now adds IPv6 compatibility to its renown Media Highway Service and Easy Live Pack. Streaming On Demand Channel, IIJ-MC's multi-media content Internet distribution service, is also slated for IPv6 compatibility. IIJ-MC has taken this opportunity to introduce iPushSERVE Streaming Monitor, a streaming monitor tool developed by PFU Limited. Media Highway Service (available July 2002) A real-time streaming delivery service for video, audio, and other multi-media content-ideal for live broadcasts of speeches, concerts, and other events. Easy Live Pack (available October 2002) A live-broadcast streaming server rental, automatic on-demand file creation, and storage service suite.
