Iridian Announces Proof Positive Certification for the Oki IRISPASS-h
MOORESTOWN, N.J. --(Business Wire)-- April 2, 2004 -- Iridian Technologies today announced it has awarded Proof Positive certification for the Oki Electric Industry Co., Ltd. IRISPASS(R)-h, a desktop iris recognition camera with an USB interface.
The Proof Positive(TM) hardware and software certification program from Iridian Technologies ratifies that iris recognition cameras and software solutions meet critical standards for performance, interoperability, safety, security, scalability, usability and reliability. Iris recognition is the most accurate, non-invasive and easy-to-use biometric for secure identification.
The IRISPASS-h is the fourth camera to achieve certification for PrivateID and Proof Positive compliance, said Tarvinder Sembhi, Director of Product Marketing for Iridian. We have seen a significant increase in the network security applications requiring strong authentication in the last six months. The healthcare market specifically sees iris recognition as a solution to meet HIPAA requirements. Iris is the ideal biometric for these applications since masks and latex gloves make other biometrics less effective in these applications.
