Spire Appoints James F. Parslow as CFO
BEDFORD, Mass. --(Business Wire)-- April 1, 2004 -- Spire Corporation (Nasdaq: SPIR) today announced the appointment of James F. Parslow as Chief Financial Officer.
Mr. Parslow has over sixteen years of financial management and public accounting experience, including financial planning and analysis, internal controls, regulatory compliance, mergers, acquisitions and divestitures, gained in high tech manufacturing and services businesses.
Roger Little, President and Chief Executive Officer, said, Mr. Parslow brings us the strong compliance and reporting skills that Spire needs to grow our diverse businesses. His breadth of experience is an important ingredient for a widely diverse company such as Spire.
I am excited by Spire Corporation's prospects in the biomedical, compound semiconductor services and solar energy businesses. As the CFO, I look forward to helping the Company meet its short-term challenges and achieve its long-term goals, said Mr. Parslow. Prior to joining Spire, Mr. Parslow held various Controller and Vice President - Finance positions at two former Thermo Electron Corporation public subsidiaries, Thermo Power Corporation and Thermo Ecotek Corporation, as well as at FairMarket, Inc. (now Dynabazaar, Inc.). Earlier in his career, Mr. Parslow provided public accounting services with Arthur Andersen LLP.
Mr. Parslow graduated from the College of the Holy Cross with an A.B. in Economics/Accounting and holds an M.B.A - Finance degree from Bentley College. He is a Certified Public Accountant and is a member of the American Society of Certified Public Accountants, Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants and Financial Executives International. Mr. Parslow is a resident of Northbridge, Massachusetts.
