NetTest Announces Availability of the CMA 5000 Multi-Layer Test Platform with Large Bay Adapter

NetTest, a leading worldwide provider of testing, monitoring and management solutions for advanced and converged networks, today announced the availability of the CMA 5000 Multi-Layer Test Platform with large bay adapter.

The CMA 5000 with large bay adapter (LBA) further promotes the concept of the multi-layer test platform by expanding the number of testing modules that can be installed simultaneously. It features a choice of AC, -48VDC or +24VDC inputs to ensure abundant power for any module combination and can physically hold up to six bays worth of modules eliminating the time consuming step of powering down and swapping modules between tests. With the LBA, module combinations such as Polarization Mode Dispersion and Chromatic Dispersion or Gigabit Ethernet, Optical Transport (SONET/SDH) and OTDR can be installed simultaneously creating a customized test set for any application.

The large bay adapter also features a Pentium III 700 MHz processor, 512MB RAM, an integrated CD R/W drive and a Windows Operating system allowing it to serve double duty as powerful test set and as a very capable laptop computer adding additional value to the NetTest solution.
