ZTE Completes LTE Testing Network for CSL


HONG KONG, Nov 26, 2009 (SinoCast Daily Business Beat via COMTEX) -- Mainland China-based telecoms equipment provider ZTE Corp. (SZSE: 000063 and SEHK: 0763) has completed the building of an LTE testing network for CSL Ltd., the Hong Kong telecoms operator announced lately.

The testing network is located in the newly erected CSL Technology Center, the first Asia-based LTE testing base, where CSL demonstrated the LTE application with a transmission speed of 127Mbps.

CSL Ltd. has ordered ZTE to construct its LTE/UMTS telecoms network, which is expected to start the services like interactive TV and high-capacity broadband to Hong Kong cellphone users in 2010 or 2011, with the UMTS900 improvement to be finished next year, according to CSL CEO Tarek A. Robbiati.


ZTE has established LTE laboratories and R&D centers in the Chinese cities like Xi'an and Shanghai as well as countries like the US, Sweden, and Germany. This September, the company demonstrated its TD-LTE system at the P&T/ Expo Comm China 2009 in cooperation with the Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute.
