Zhone Technologies reports reduced loss for Q2Jul 22, 2010 (M2 EQUITYBITES via COMTEX) -- Zhone Technologies Inc (NASDAQ:ZHNE), a provider of network access solutions for fibre, copper and wireless broadband infrastructures, reported on Wednesday a net loss of USD2.0m or USD0.07 per share for the second quarter ended 30 June 2010. This is an improvement from the net loss of USD2.3m or USD0.08 per share for the second quarter of 2009 and the prior quarter's net loss of USD3.2m or USD0.11 per share. Revenue for this year's second quarter, at USD33.3m, showed a 10% increase year-on-year and grew 7% from the first quarter of 2010. Zhone's CEO Mory Ejabat said that the company was confident about the remainder of 2010, "based on strong interest in our new products and our end-to-end multi-service solutions being deployed by service providers in North America and continued strength in the Middle East, Caribbean and Latin America and new growth in the Nordic Regions."
