Zhone Technologies Multi-Service Access Platform Selected by WorldNet Telecommunications, Inc., for Voice and High Speed Broadband ServicesOAKLAND, Calif. --(Business Wire)-- Zhone Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ:ZHNE), a global leader in single-platform delivery of voice, DSL, EFM, FTTx and wireless broadband services, announced today that Puerto Rico based CLEC, WorldNet has added EFM (Ethernet in the first mile) to its service portfolio with Zhone's MALC(TM) multi-service access platform (MSAP). WorldNet first deployed Zhone's MALC in 2005 when it transitioned to an unbundled network element platform provider (UNE-P). Now the San Juan based CLEC has grown to become one of the top three telecommunications providers in Puerto Rico.
