Zain Bahrain ends 2011 on a high note [Gulf Daily News (Bahrain)]

(Gulf Daily News (Bahrain) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) MANAMA: Zain Bahrain has wrapped up 2011 on a high note, its general manager Mohammed Zainalabedin said yesterday. The dynamic telecom company closes 2011 as part of the Zain Group's winning circle which has been judged "Best Overall Middle East and Africa Mobile Operator" at the annual CommsMEA Awards 2011, organised by the region's foremost business-to-business telecom publication.

Zain Bahrain has always been an important part of the Zain Group and the Bahrain operations have set excellent benchmarks in terms of technological breakthroughs, customer service innovations and community service projects.

The company leads the dynamic trend of mobile communications and is well known for its remarkable flexibility that allows it to tap new technology and customer needs and deliver state-of-the-art solutions to its individual and corporate customers.

"We are very happy that we kept our promise of top-class service and value to customers during 2011," said Mr Zainalabedin.

"Always a leader when it comes to tapping the latest technology to empower people, Zain Bahrain closes 2011 on a particularly high note with a series of empowering customer offers that allow innovations to reach the customer and ambitious community initiatives that will help to define the development of Bahrain in the coming decade and beyond." In 2011, Zain Bahrain introduced many new services, facilities, events and community service programmes which offer the people of Bahrain the best of telecom experiences.

Zain Bahrain's most ambitious telecom service project in 2011 was the recalibrating of its broadband service.

The restructuring has enabled Zain Bahrain to offer customers increased reliability, higher speeds, greater mobility and access to more innovative voice and data solutions at extremely attractive price.

In addition, the service is packed to the brim with special deals such as a BD1 add-on that allows free and discounted local and international calls, pay-as-you-go laptop deals and e-go family packages with separate devices for each family member.

Zain was also at the forefront of the evolving technology race through the launch of the BlackBerry App World for its BlackBerry smartphone customers in Bahrain which enabled Zain BlackBerry users to enjoy a wide range of mobile applications for their BlackBerry smartphone in a variety of categories, including entertainment, games, IM and social networking, news, weather and productivity.

Zain customers also got a chance to own the very on-trend Apple iPhone 4 at affordable installments and the company joined hands with Samsung to exclusively offer the Samsung Galaxy Tablet, which became a rage among the tech-savvy, either for free or through easy installments, based on the customer's contract with Zain.

Many of the 2011 promotions gave Zain Bahrain customers the ability to maximise their Zain network connection because the company introduced many free call offers.

The most popular was the affordable add-on 'No Limits' free voice call service where customers simply had to subscribe to free calls via a short code and enjoy 24-hour unlimited free calls to Zain numbers for a token fee.

Zain Bahrain along with Microsoft, also launched the latest generation of Windows Live, an integrated set of online services that make it easier and more fun for customers to communicate and share with the people they care about most. It also introduced Zain Webinar, a powerful corporate info management tool designed to change the way the corporate world manages information updates and training.

Recognising that Social Media is the new communication frontier, Zain Bahrain has extended its support to the pioneers of this medium through technical support and recognition. From awarding a peppy online certificate of appreciation to Zainers on its Facebook Wall to co-hosting a celebration for 75 social media networkers to mark World Social Media Day, Zain Bahrain pulled out all stops to creatively mark the involvement of the online community in shaping Bahraini social boundaries.

A proud moment for Zain Bahrain was the listing of Mr Zainalabedin among the Top 40 most influential telecoms leaders of the Middle East. Known for his dynamism and his analytical approach to making the telecoms giant one of the technology leaders in the region, Mr Zainalabedin has built the firm into one of the best operations of the Zain Group.

The Zain Group corporate website, which is a template for the informative and easy-to-use Zain Bahrain electronic presence (www.zain.bh.com) was crowned as best website in a survey was conducted by King Worldwide Digital, the leading online corporate communications agency that specialises in such rankings across the globe.

The telecom company beat the top 138 companies in the region based on a protocol of 140 criteria. This included the innovative use of social media to promote its cause and engage customers and offer transparency and genuine information to site visitors, including an award-winning digital annual report.
