Wyndham appoints Ruff to lead EMEA operations [HotelierMiddleEast.com]


(HotelierMiddleEast.com Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Wyndham Hotel Group has appointed former Starwood man Daniel Ruff as its president and managing director of the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and Indian Ocean regions.

Based in the company's London officer, he will take up the new role on November 12, taking over from Rui Barros, who is moving to North America to take up a key position for the company in the region.

Ruff will be responsible for the hotel group's strategic development and operational, marketing, revenue management and sales services to the company's franchisees and development partners in the region. He will be based in the company's London, UK offices.



He most recently lead asset management for Europe, Africa and the Middle East at Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, overseeing franchise services and operations as well as owner relations and portfolio and contract management.

During his 11 years at Starwood, Ruff held roles in corporate investments and development, brand integration and operations and special projects.

He began his career as an investment banking analyst with Credit Suisse First Boston in New York.
