With Swiftsure, its 32nd spin-off, INO confirms its position as Canada's leader in optics/photonics

QUEBEC CITY, March 15, 2017 /CNW Telbec/ - INO is proud to announce the spinning off of Swiftsure Spatial Systems Inc. Based in British-Columbia, INO's 32nd spin-off company takes Synthetic Aperture (SA) processing from the digital age to the age of photonics, providing imagery from SA sensor platforms at ultra-high speed. With Swiftsure, INO gains a foothold in the west, confirming its position as Canada's leader in optics/photonics.

Using optronic processing of complex signal data, Swiftsure is developing imaging solutions for detection, recognition, surveillance, and decision-making. By reducing the latency and complexity of systems using proprietary optronic data processing technology, Swiftsure enhances remote sensing capabilities, with platforms spanning terrestrial, air, marine, and space environments. Think driverless cars, submarines, drones, and satellites. Developed by INO's team, Swiftsure's real-time optronic processing system is 50 times faster than digital competitors.

"This new spin-off, our first in British Columbia, truly confirms INO's position as a leader in optics/photonics, from coast to coast across Canada says Jean-Yves Roy, INO's President and Chief Executive Officer. "Each of our spin-offs is an immense source of pride, as it turns our technology into wealth and jobs for Canadians."

"We're very excited about the future of our company, which is directly attributable to the exceptional people and technology at INO. We're proud to be part of the INO family," says Dennett Woodland, CEO of Swiftsure Spatial Systems.
