Wireless Innovation Forum Announces Approval of Final Documents to be Submitted to JTNC for Consideration in the SCA 4.1 Standard

WASHINGTON --(Business Wire)--

The Wireless Innovation (News - Alert) Forum, a non-profit international industry association dedicated to driving the future of radio communications and systems worldwide, today announced ballot and approval by its members of the final documents to be submitted to the Joint Tactical Networking Center (JTNC) for potential inclusion in the much anticipated Software Communications Architecture (SCA) 4.1 Standard.

The Forum's Coordinating Committee on International SCA Standards has been collaborating with the JTNC to develop technical recommendations for the next version of the SCA since the November 2013 kick-off workshop (http://groups.winnforum.org/p/cm/ld/fid=403). Working groups within the Committee produced several documents that were recently approved by the Forum membership:

The Forum will present a preview of the Forum offerings to the SCA 4.1 Standard at an upcoming event, held in cooperation with the JTNC, following MILCOM on 9-10 October 2014. Event details can be found here: http://www.wirelessinnovation.org/sca-4-1-standard-preview-event. The event will also include discussion on the integration of these contributions into SCA 4.1 by JTNC and next steps following the SCA 4.1 release.

More information about the Coordinating Committee on International SCA Standards can be found here: http://groups.winnforum.org/SCA_Committee.

Wireless Innovation Forum member representatives have initiated and led multiple work efforts that promote their organization's specific objectives through the creation of reports, recommendations and specifications that are widely used by the advanced wireless community. The importance of these "work products" is reflected in the fact that over 22,000 individual documents were downloaded from the Forum's Work Products document library in 2013 alone.

Supported by platinum Sponsor Selex ES, and Media Sponsor Thales, WInnForum has several working groups focusing on projects related to SCA and Spectrum (News - Alert) Innovation.
