Wilkinson Barker Knauer Welcomes New Partner Brian Murray

Wilkinson Barker Knauer, LLP announced today that Brian W. Murray has joined the firm as a partner, effective today. Mr. Murray, who was a partner in the Communications Practice Group at Latham & Watkins LLP, will continue to focus on telecommunications and media regulatory issues, with a particular emphasis on broadband services. Mr. Murray will participate in rulemaking and adjudicatory proceedings before the Federal Communications Commission (FCC (News - Alert)), and will also counsel clients in connection with regulatory compliance and transactions. His clients have included cable operators, traditional telecommunications providers, Internet-based competitors, and other new entrants, and he has represented clients at all levels of the federal courts and before a number of state public service commissions. In addition, Mr. Murray has assisted companies in reviews by the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States, as well as in the similar review process conducted by the Team Telecom agencies in conjunction with transactions requiring approval by the FCC. He currently serves as a Co-chair of the Federal Communications Bar Association's Video Programming and Distribution Committee, and previously served as a Co-chair of the Moot Court Committee.

Mr. Murray received his B.A. from Duke University, and also earned a Master of Scence degree from the London School of Economics, and a J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law, where he was an Executive Editor of the Virginia Law Review. Following law school, he clerked for Judge Frank Mays Hull in the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit and for Judge Louis F. Oberdorfer in the United States District Court for the District of Columbia.
