WePay Introduces First White Label Mobile Point of Sale Solution for Platforms

Helps Platforms Offer Omnichannel Payments Under Their Own Brand, Delivers Efficiency Gains to Users

REDWOOD CITY, Calif., May 16, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- WePay, the leading provider of payments-as-a-service for online platforms including GoFundMe, FreshBooks, and Constant Contact, today announced a white label mobile point of sale solution that enables platforms to seamlessly handle in-person payments in addition to online payments.

Now any platform can offer its own branded mobile cad reader as an integrated part of its overall product, without having to build, maintain, and certify hardware.

For service providers and sellers running their business on these platforms, the WePay launch also yields efficiency gains as they can now manage all of their sales, including in-person transactions, within their preferred platform. Offline transaction data automatically syncs with a user's platform account, removing the need for manual data entry to get a complete view of their business — a real benefit given how much commerce happens offline in many verticals.

"We're incredibly excited to make it simple for our partners to offer a mobile point of sale solution under their own brand," said Bill Clerico, CEO of WePay. "Providing omnichannel payments to merchants just got easy."

WePay launched the new solution with business platforms FreshBooks and Infusionsoft.

"This is an exciting step forward in improving the point-of-sale process for our small businesses and their customers alike," said Terry Hicks, Chief Product Officer of Infusionsoft. "The Infusionsoft-branded mobile reader seamlessly integrates payments within our sales and marketing software, saving our users time and making their lives easier."

The solution consists of three key components that work with platforms' software and mobile apps:

  • Customizable card readers that plug into iOS and Android devices to accept traditional magnetic stripe cards and EMV chip cards
  • iOS and Android software development kits (SDKs)
  • Fulfillment services that manage reader inventory and ship custom readers directly to users with a single API call

Platforms can get started by adding just a few lines of new WePay code to their software and mobile apps. WePay's mobile payment solution provides the same high-level fraud protection and compliance coverage that comes standard with the company's online processing service. Platform users also benefit from WePay's instant onboarding, best-in-class Customer Support, and low and transparent pricing.

The offering is available to current and new WePay platform customers for use with their US-based customers. Mobile hardware pricing to platforms will depend on the level of customization and quantity desired. Standard "card present" processing rates of 2.75% + $0.30 apply.
