Wedding expo to be held on Saturday

Couples who are getting ready to take the next step in their relationship will have the chance to explore wedding ideas this weekend at Aiken's Premiere Wedding Celebration.
On Saturday, the USC Aiken Convocation Center will host the fourth annual wedding exposition from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. This event will feature many of the CSRA's wedding retailers, event planners, caterers and photographers in one central location to help brides and grooms-to-be plan their perfect day.
For the fourth year in a row, the Convocation Center will be filled from wall to wall with wedding accessories, themes, planning and organizing ideas that will help alleviate some of the stresses of planning that very important day, said Emily Dunaway, marketing manager for the USCA Convocation Center.
"Everyone is invited to attend the celebration," Dunaway said. "They'll gain inspiration from the beautiful displays of wedding professionals, attend a fashion show with something for everyone from bride to groom to flower girl, and they can make their way to the VIP Room to peruse the tablescapes put together by various local wedding specialists."
There's also fun and games to be had at the expo, as well, Dunaway added.
"The Newlywed Game" will feature contestants who qualified via Clear Channel Radio Station websites, and the winning couple will receive a honeymoon trip to St. Thomas provided by Augusta Bella Weddings.
The cake decorating competition returns to the expo this year, and a slew of local bakers will compete to bake the best cake with the theme "Vintage Love."
A free wedding will also be given away to one lucky attendee, as well. Registration for the free wedding giveaway will be available at the entrance of the celebration.
Tickets to Aiken's Premiere Wedding Celebration are $10 and can be purchased at the USC Aiken Convocation Center Box Office or online at www.georgialinatix.com.
Tickets are not available for purchase by phone.
