VoIP application software leader Broadsoft has more presence in the Caribbean

(Business Wire Latin America - English Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge) BroadSoft, Inc., a leading provider of VoIP application software, today announced that it has created a new sales team dedicated to meeting the VoIP platform needs of service providers across Bermuda, the Caribbean, and Latin America. The new team will build upon BroadSoft's current success in the region, supporting existing channel partners and tier 1 carrier customers and adding new customers as the expanding VoIP market matures.

The new sales team, which will focus on delivering the platform to support hosted PBX and IP Centrex services, will be led by Alex Fano who brings over 16 years experience in sales and business development, helping companies penetrate and expand business across the region. Fano will also be directly responsible for account management in Mexico. Bill Soto, who will spearhead the company's efforts in Bermuda, the Caribbean and Central America, comes to the team with 17 years experience working with service providers in the region. Also joining the group is Alex Recabarren who brings 16 years experience working with carriers in the region and will serve as manager of the South American territory. The team has worked together for the past 10 years.

"With the fast-growing market for VoIP across the Caribbean, Bermuda, Latin America and South America, our dedicated sales team will enable BroadSoft to serve the marketplace with greater agility," said Michael Tessler, president and CEO of BroadSoft. "The BroadWorks platform is compatible with both the North American and European-based technologies used in the region. With BroadSoft, service providers can easily offer hosted VoIP services to meet the needs of geographically distributed enterprises, such as multi-site financial institutions, that are typical in the area."

According to Eduardo Dubin Domingues, Latin America Research Analyst with Frost & Sullivan, the market for VoIP services in Latin America is experiencing healthy growth with a forecasted 85% compounded average annual growth rate of installed VoIP lines from 2005 to 2011. Frost & Sullivan expects the Latin America market to represent a region of significant growth for VoIP services.
