Vodafone First Internet Café Opens


(AllAfrica.com Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Vodafone Ghana has officially opened its first Internet Café at Cantonment in Accra. The Internet Cafe, together with a Wifi area has Wifi hotspot and a seating capacity for 100 customers. The facility provides a world class high speed internet services at a cost of GH¢2.5 per an hour, guaranteeing customers value for their money.

Mr. Selorm Fiador, Head/Retail Sales, remarked that "The Internet Café has the fastest speed in Ghana and Africa with over 40 megabytes per second officially, and in testing close to 100 megabytes per second." He added that the facility also has a gaming section with top of the line graphic card and multimedia kits all set in a very relaxing and cozy atmosphere. The opening of the Cantonment branch is just one of the ten internet cafes to be rolled out across the country by the close of 2009, which is a demonstration of Vodafone's commitment to meeting the communications needs of Ghanaians.

The internet Café among other things will afford students and academics the opportunity to conduct research, business persons to initiate and follow up on transactions, Employees accessing work related information as well as young people seeking employment; browsing websites for job advertisement and sending applications for employment.
