VITEC introduces FMV Transcoder for ISR Applications and Tactical Mobile Video

VITEC, a worldwide leader in advanced digital video solutions, today introduced its new Optibase (News - Alert) MGW Transcoder platform. The Optibase MGW Transcoder intercepts existing full-motion-video (FMV) streams, transcodes to wide range of picture quality and data rates and disseminates to all types of viewers in standard definition and high-definition up 1080p across the enterprise LAN and WAN networks.

Content providers, DOD platforms and secure government video services are transitioning to higher quality HD services - distribution of these bandwidth-demanding feeds to remote locations and to disadvantaged users is increasingly becoming a challenge. The Optibase MGW Transcoder optimizes FMV service data rates and resolutions for effective real-time distribution across LANs and WANs, while preserving Cursor-On-Target (News - Alert) (CoT) and Key-Length-Value (KLV) metadata.
