Vitals to Provide Physician Information to Microsoft's Bing Snapshot

LYNDHURST, N.J. --(Business Wire)--

Vitals, the market leader in providing online tools and data enabling consumers to make informed decisions about the cost and quality of their medical care, announced today that its vast database of physician reviews and information has been integrated into the Snapshot feature on Bing.com, Microsoft's (News - Alert) search engine.

The Snapshot feature in Bing.com brings together rich information about people, places and things to provide relevant, at a glance information. To do this, Bing tracks billions of entities and the relationships between them to provide useful information related to a search. Vitals will be providing Bing access to its large database of doctor and dentist information and online consumer ratings and reviews to contribute to the millions of entities related to health care.

"We are pleased to contribute our health care information to Bing.com," says Jeff Cutler, executive vice pesident of Vitals. "Our values are aligned in providing the most up to date and accurate information for consumers. And we are delighted to collaborate with one of the most iconic names in technology to provide this valuable service. "

The Vitals database is the industry's largest source of aggregated health care provided data, containing more than 5 billion data points from more than 170,000 data sources regarding every licensed doctor and dentist in the United States. This includes unique data elements such as special expertise, quality of medical schools and hospital affiliations, academic appointments, awards, publications, and even photos and videos.

"Bing is committed to providing the best search experience for our customers," said Craig Beilinson, Director at Bing. "The variety of health care information provided by Vitals will complement the rich information in Snapshot."
