VICTIMS GROUP BOSS RESIGNS FROM ROLE [Ulster Region] [Mirror (UK)]

(Mirror (UK) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) THE boss of a victims' organisation branded "not fit for purpose" has resigned, it emerged yesterday.

Anne Dorbie has left the VSS or Victims and Survivors Service just months after it was slated in front of a Stormont Committee.

In a statement to the Mirror, VSS said: "Anne Dorbie has recently left her position as CEO of VSS.

"Margaret Bateson has now been appointed as acting CEO and VSS work continues as normal. VSS would like to take this opportunity to thank Anne for her service and wish her the very best for the future." Speaking yesterday victims campaigner Raymond McCord, who had been a vocal critic of the VSS, said the organisation "has been a disaster under her leadership".

He added that many victims have been waiting since the beginning of April for a range of payments administered by VSS.
