Verizon's 4G LTE network to launch in Redding, California

Aug 07, 2012 (M2 EQUITYBITES via COMTEX) -- US wireless communications company Verizon Wireless announced on Monday that it will introduce its 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) network in Redding, California, in the coming weeks.

When Verizon's 4G LTE launches in Redding, customers in the areas including Redding, Anderson, Palo Cedro, Red Bluff, Vina and Corning will have access to company's 4G network. This new market launch will provide customers in Redding access to the Verizon's 4G LTE network and experience speeds up to 10 times faster than before. In real-world, fully loaded network environments, Verizon's 4G LTE customers should experience average data rates of 5 to 12 megabits per second (Mbps) on the downlink and 2 to 5 Mbps on the uplink.

Verizon's customers can choose from a large selection of 4G LTE devices including a variety of tablets, mobile hotspots, smartphones and more, including the Samsung Galaxy S III and the DROID INCREDIBLE 4G LTE by HTC.

Also, Verizon offers a variety of smart accessories that customers can use with their 4G LTE devices, including the FitBit Ultra Wireless Activity Tracker, the Withings WiFi Scale and the Helo TC Touch Controlled Helicopter, among others.

In addition, Verizon's customers can also take advantage of HomeFusion Broadband, a solution that leverages the power and speed of the Verizon's 4G LTE network to deliver high-speed, in-home Internet access for residential broadband, particularly where Internet options are limited or are not currently available.

Verizon Wireless is a joint venture of Verizon Communications (NYSE:VZ) (Nasdaq:VZ) and Vodafone (LSE: VOD) (Nasdaq:VOD).
