Verizon expands 3G wireless network in Rangeley, Maine

Jun 05, 2009 (Datamonitor via COMTEX) -- Verizon Wireless has expanded its 3G network with a new cell site in Rangeley, Maine. The new cell site provides increased wireless voice and 3G coverage along Route 17, Route 16 and Route 4 in Rangeley and Oquossoc, as well as the surrounding areas.

Regionally, Verizon has invested more than $2.4 billion into its New England network over the past nine years, including $240 million in 2008 alone.

Richard Enright, director for network system performance at Verizon Wireless, said: "Verizon Wireless's 3G network coverage across New England is unparalleled. We've invested billions of dollars into New England believing that even the most sophisticated cell phone is only as good as the network it runs on. Our continued aggressive network investments provide customers with a 3G network advantage at home and on vacation." http://www.datamonitor.com Republication or redistribution, including by framing or similar means, is expressly prohibited without prior written consent.
