VDC Display Systems Sees High Interest Level for Newly Released Sony HD Projectors after Successful Introduction at ITSEC 2008


CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. --(Business Wire)--

VDC Display Systems (VDC DS), a wholly owned subsidiary of Video Display Corporation (NASDAQ: VIDE), announced today that the Company has received numerous inquiries and several firm orders from US defense contractors and simulation companies for deliveries of the new Sony ultra high resolution and HD projectors developed by SONY Corporation. The projectors are to be installed in both commercial and US army flight trainers during the first quarter of 2009.



In addition of supplying projectors, VDC Display Systems will provide proprietary projector Control Software, Optical and Electronic Edge Blending, Warping, installation assistance and the well known 24 / 7 Technical Customer support.

The key features of Sony's new High Resolution Series projectors include increased brightness, increased contrast and improved cooling with reduced noise levels. The Sony HD projectors include a Smear Reduction System by HFR SXRD (Motion flow), 12,000:1 (native) contrast ratio, 60,000:1 (Auto-iris function), 800 lumens brightness, and a Professional Cooling System among the salient features.
