U.S. Army and Ten80 Education Inspire 10,000 Students to Pursue Higher Learning

ALRINGTON, Va., March 22, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- In partnership with the U.S. Army, Ten80 Education's STEM Innovators-in-Training Experience is underway, inviting nearly 10,000 high school students across the nation to explore the importance of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) as important foundations for successful careers this year.

Students work alongside U.S. Army Soldiers at STEM Innovators-in-Training Experiences, competing in a series of mental exercises that test their critical thinking skills and parallel the advanced training required of U.S. Army Soldiers. The U.S. Army and Ten80 Education encourage students to learn about STEM through panel discussions with STEM professionals from the local community, competitions and interactive workshops that focus on enterprise topics such as: coding, robotics, racing, intellectual property, leadership and the art of marketing. For a first-hand look at the action check out this video.

"The U.S. Army's partnership with Ten80 Education enables us to reach thousands of students at a critical juncture in their development and teach them the importance of science, technology, engineering and math education," said Mark S. Davis, ?deputy assistant secretary of the Army (Marketing). "The U.S. Army is the Nation's most innovative organization. STEM skills are essential to our sucess. With support from Ten80 Education, the U.S. Army continues to mentor students across America to pursue higher education and available scholarship opportunities in the U.S. Army."

On a national scale, the U.S. Army's partnership with Ten80 Education enables Soldiers to educate students on the many opportunities the U.S. Army provides to obtain a college education. The U.S. Army helps offset the growing issue of college debt through financial support programs like the GI Bill and the U.S. Army Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) – which is one of the largest scholarship awarding organizations in the world.

The Army ROTC program strengthens young Americans through education, high-tech skills training and leadership development. It remains the broadest path for those young men and women wanting to serve our nation as Army officers to achieve their goal. For a personal look at the educational opportunities and scholarship benefits the Army ROTC program offers, watch an ROTC Cadet share his experience at a recent STEM Innovators-in-Training Experience and how the U.S. Army supports his higher education goals: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6EqplyXsGHQ.

The STEM Innovators-in-Training Experience inspires students to engage in STEM learning, providing them with opportunities to cultivate the confidence that comes from knowing how to effectively answer hard questions, continue their education ambitions and skillfully tackle the problems of tomorrow. The excitement continues this spring with events occurring in San Francisco, Boston and Philadelphia. To learn more, visit www.goarmy.com.
