[October 07, 2008] Unify Corporation's Composer for Lotus Notes solution selected for pilot project by Energy Company Tweet (Corporate IT Update Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Unify Corp (NASDAQ: UNFY), a provider of application development, data management and application modernisation solutions, disclosed yesterday (6 October) that Unify's Composer for Lotus Notes solution has been chosen by an energy generation and wholesale marketing company, to help migrate two Lotus Notes applications to the Microsoft platform, a pilot migration project. Composer for Lotus Notes is an application migration solution that removes data from Lotus Notes and re-assembles it into .NET and SharePoint environments. Composer incorporates standard methodologies, migration technologies and professional services to deliver web services-based applications that seamlessly integrate into the Microsoft Office platform including SharePoint, Visual Studio and SQL Server. This pilot project allows customers to assess the technical and financial feasibility of migrating its complete Notes application environment, which would enable the power company to consolidate software development into a single organisation that supports the various global business units. The two applications selected for pilot migrations are used internally to track IT customer enhancement requests and allows customers to enter request details and track the impact for Sarbanes-Oxley compliance. The applications contain workflow for handling the approval requirements including routing the request through various levels of approval before they are assigned to IT.
