TXU Energy Quarterbacks "Guide to the Game" for Baylor Season Opener

DALLAS --(Business Wire)--

The largest construction project in Central Texas history has cleared the field, and TXU Energy has created a guide to the new McLane Stadium so football fans don't miss any of the action.

The Guide to the Game features a full-color layout of the 93-acre stadium site's impressive features, from the athletes' locker room amenities to Touchdown Alley, where turf from the former Floyd Casey Stadium has been recycled. Additional callouts include the bus drop-off point by Touchdown Alley ("Bear Walk"), the 475 tailgating spaces and 16 boat slips for "sailgating," TXU Energy charging stations where fans can juice up their electronics, and more.

"We're enormously proud to be the official electricity sponsor of Baylor Athletics and to be associated with the university's rich tradition of excellence," said Sydney Seiger, chief marketing officer for TXU Energy. "As a Baylor Bear myself, I could not be more excited to 'sic 'em' alongside fellow alumni in this beautiful new stadium and to work for a company that's helping power exciting experiences through our game guide and partnership."

TXU Energy's Guide to the Game highlights additional elements in the stadium lineup, including:

  • 45,000 seats with expansion capabilities to 55,000 in the future.
  • 40,000 light fixtures in 200 different styles.
  • 3,164 tons of structural steel - equivalent to the weight of 25,312 North American black bears.
  • 750 miles of sidewalks - roughly the distance from the stadium to Nashville, Tenn.
  • Nearly 500 television screens, not including the 45'x106' jumbo screen.

"Features such as high-efficiency lights and low-flow water fixtures will make a big impact without inconveniencing the fans," said Nick Joos, assistant athletic director at Baylor University.

The Baylor Bears face off against the Southern Methodist University Mustangs at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 31. Pick up your own commemorative Guide to the Game at the TXU Energy Bear Zone, adjacent to Touchdown Alley prior to kick off, or visit txu.com/Baylor.
