TrueWireless Stereo software development kit introduced by CSR

(Worldwide Computer Products News Via Acquire Media NewsEdge)
CSR (LSE:CSR), a provider of personal wireless technology, announced on
Tuesday (6 January) the launch of TrueWireless Stereo, a new software
development kit for high-end Bluetooth stereo headphones and speakers.

The company said that TrueWireless Stereo, based on its
blueCore5-Multimedia platform, enables manufacturers to quickly bring
innovative Bluetooth products for stereo headsets and speakers to
market.

The development kit is based on the use of two Bluetooth devices, one
as the master and the other as the slave. The call handling and control
are supported on the master device, which relays the audio stream to
the slave headset, allowing the product to work with any existing A2DP
device already on the market. Audio is streamed from the audio source
to the master unit and is relayed to the slave using CSR's
synchronisation protocol.

In addition, the development kit features the company's audio
enhancement technologies, including Clear Voice Capture (CVC) for
improved audio quality through a microphone and clearer audio through
the earpiece through noise cancellation. TrueWireless stereo also
supports Bluetooth version 2.1 + EDR along with sub-band coding or MP3
audio file formats, CSR said.

The company will be giving demonstrations of TrueWireless Stereo at CES
Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, USA, on 8-11 January, 2009.

No pricing details were disclosed.
