TransGuardia Dispatch Technology Debuts In Medellin Colombia

The first company to adopt this innovative dispatch solution is Tax Belen, a Medellin based taxi company, which has over 200 cabs working under this new technology since March 2009. XA Worldwide is planning to equip an additional 6000 taxis in Medellin, followed by a nationwide technology integration initiative, including major cities such as Bogota, Cali, Baranquilla and Cartagena. By integrating the GPS and GIS technologies to a SMS solution, the dispatch centers are able to direct taxi, ambulance, and bus drivers to their destinations in a timely and efficient manner. "Our intent is to replace the analog dispatch system with a digital one. The SMS messages will alert both taxi drivers and passengers with helpful information, including time of arrival. " says Santiago Jaramillo, Tax Belen Administrative Manager.
