ThoughtWorks announces new release of Mingle project management tool(Worldwide Computer Products News Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Agile application lifecycle management (ALM) specialist ThoughtWorks Studios unveiled on Wednesday a new release of its Mingle project management tool. The company said Mingle 3.0 focuses on new levels of collaborative communication and extending reporting and manager visibility across multiple projects for improved program management. In addition, the solution is being integrated with Google Wave to improve the communication and efficiency of development teams. To help teams work more collaboratively, the company has designed a new communications platform called 'Murmurs,' which captures conversations that would otherwise have been lost through unstructured communications, including IM chats or e-mails, and associates team conversations with Mingle project artifacts. In addition, new program-level management features provide cross-project visibility, traceability and extended reporting capabilities, while the new Macro Editor helps users new to Mingle Macros by automating syntax within projects, simplifying the creation and preview of charts. Additional reporting capabilities include a Macro Creator for developers, which helps simplify and automate syntax for reporting within Mingle projects when creating reports and previewing charts. The new release also adds support for Mingle clustering, which facilitates horizontal scaling for larger organisations. Other enhancements add support for software configuration management (SCM) through Subversion 1.6.5, API updates that provide better access to information within Mingle for integration with external applications or systems and updates to available MQL database queries. No pricing details were disclosed. ((Comments on this story may be sent to [email protected])) (c) 2009 M2 COMMUNICATIONS |
