Telenor signs new agreement for the operation of Oslo Municipality's data and telephony network


(Hugin (English) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) (Fornebu, 7th October 2009) Oslo Municipality, in the shape of its Development and Skills Service, and Telenor have entered into an agreement on the operation of the local authority's corporate data and telephony network. The agreement also covers the supply of communications equipment and services. It is a 3-year agreement worth a total of NOK 90 million. The Development and Skills Service carried out this procurement on behalf of all the organisations in Oslo Municipality.



The agreements cover the operation of data and telephony networks for around 1400 sites within the municipality, and the option of supplying equipment and associated services over a 3-year period from the date of operational delivery. The agreements may be extended by a further three years. This agreement has a minimum annual value of NOK 30 million.

The agreements cover the following deliveries and services from Telenor and from its subsidiary Datametrix: * Operation of the core network and distribution network * Operation of all accesses included in Oslo Municipality's internal network * Operation of the online portal for supervision, orders and deliveries * Operation of the wireless access solution * Operation of the central telephony applications * Supply of network equipment * Supply of telephony equipment * Options: operation of remote working solution, operation of local network and of local telephony solutions "This agreement is important for Telenor's long-term focus on the operation of customer-specific solutions. Datametrix will provide the majority of the equipment, and will also be responsible for the operation and servicing of the network and telephony solution for Oslo Municipality.
