TEHRAN READY TO COOPERATE WITH IAEA - IRANIAN AMBASSADOR TO RUSSIA

April 18 (Interfax) - The Iranian ambassador to Russia, Gholam Reza Ansari, addressing reporters on Monday, confirmed his country's readiness to cooperate with the International Atomic Energy Agency and said that he hoped the Iranian nuclear problem would be resolved through negotiations.



"We hope the Iranian question will be resolved through negotiations," he told journalists at a reception at the Iranian embassy in Moscow to celebrate the day of Iran's Armed Forces.

Commenting on the upcoming meeting of representatives of six UN Security Council permanent members and Germany, scheduled for Tuesday, the ambassador said: "We expect these six states to restore the IAEA's prestige so that we can, as before, cooperate with this agency."


"Iran is interested in voluntary cooperation with the IAEA and strives to make this cooperation open and transparent," the diplomat said.
