(Mail Today (India) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) NOW SHOWING Google Sidewiki is no ordinary side story IF you are among the 90- plus per cent of the online population that uses either the Internet Explorer or Firefox web browser, then Google Sidewiki could be a nifty new feature you don't want to miss.

Launched on Thursday, Sidewiki a sidebar to your browser allows users to post their observations or comments to any Web page they are reading. Not just that, your comments or observations can be read by all those who use Sidewiki. Yes, there are the regular features but the real deal would be only when millions of people download the Sidewiki application and start using it. By the way, you can share your Sidewiki comment on Facebook or Twitter.

To get it on your browser, go to www. google. com/ sidewiki and download the application. Install it on your browser and then restart it. You are on your way.

" Shashi Tharoor here" TWITTER, the world's and Indian media's favourite microblogging service, now gives a voice over Internet protocol ( VoIP) service, too. That means you can make a call using JaJah's new @ call VoIP service for Twitter.

To call using Twitter, both you and the other person must be Twitter and JaJah users ( yes, the registration is free, in case you're wondering). However, at present the calls are only for US numbers and are restricted to two minutes.

Holy cow! Now if only Shashi Tharoor could have gone forward in time and made a call instead of typing that fateful tweet to journalist Kanchan Gupta.
