According to a release, Teachscape Reflect Live and the Teachscape Professional Learning Suite were named as finalists in the Golden Lamp Awards and Distinguished Achievement Awards (DAAs), respectively. "For more than four decades the AEP Awards have been seen as one of the most distinguished awards programs for educational products that promote teaching and learning," said Kathy Yates, chief executive officer of Teachscape. "To be recognized in these two categories is a distinct honor, and reinforces our commitment to create powerful, differentiated resources to help all educators maximize their effectiveness." Deemed by the AEP as the best-of-the-best products for education, the Golden Lamp Awards are the educational resource industry's top honor, recognizing the best overall tools for teaching and learning. Teachscape Reflect Live, a tablet-based observation management and reporting tool, was recognized by this award under the professional development category for its ability to allow classroom observers to move from traditional paper forms to a technology-enabled process. The tool combines observation scheduling, live observation, document/artifact management, and reporting. The DAAs honor the best in a range of product types and resources used by teachers, parents and students. Teachscape's Professional Learning Suite, developed in partnership with educational organizations and subject-matter experts, was recognized as a finalist in the professional development category under subject area of this award. The Professional Learning Suite includes videos of authentic classroom practice, interactive exercises, interviews of teachers and administrators, and expert commentary. The Suite is comprised of eight online content libraries organized into more than 40 topics. The topics include more than 120 modules that contain 2,500 videos and more than 10,000 learning resources. This year's award winners will be formally announced this June at the Annual AEP Conference in Washington, D.C.
