Talking Stick Resort Hosts Third Installment Of Its eSports Series

SALT RIVER PIMA-MARICOPA INDIAN COMMUNITY, Ariz., Jan. 25, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Talking Stick Resort continues to dominate the world of eSports with the announcement that it will add Street Fighter V to its Feb. 10 eSports Arizona: Desert Showdown event. The fighting game was added to the tournament's already impressive roster of games including Super Smash Bros. Melee Singles, Melee Doubles, Smash 4 Singles and Doubles. Additionally, the resort will host again a Cosplay contest coinciding with the video game competitions.

"For this third installment of our eSports series, we have brought back Cosplay, which in our first event attracted many talented and well-known participants. Talking Stick Resort's latest eSport's competition will feature both singles and doubles competitions with a prize pool of $7,000. Play will begin at 9:30 a.m., with matches scheduled throughout the day. Participants will vie for cash prizes playing Super Smash Bros. 4, Super Smash Bros. Melee and the newly added Street Fighter V. The following is the breakout of prizes for tournament play:

Super Smash Bros 4
Singles: $500
Doubles: $2,000

The exciting event is free for public viewing and will include the Cosplay showcase during a scheduled intermission. Prejudging for the Cosplay Costume Competition will begin at 12:30 p.m. Returning as a judge is award-winning Cosplay photographer, Martin Wong. He and his fellow judges will evaluate costumes on their overall aesthetic and craftsmanship. The importance of which cannot be underestimated, as cosplayers will be vying for their share of $2,500.
