SYSPRO CyberScan Ushers in New Era of Browser-Based Bar Coding

COSTA MESA, Calif. --(Business Wire)-- SYSPRO, a leading provider of enterprise software, has announced SYSPRO CyberScan, a browser-based barcode solution that offers total integration with SYSPRO ERP software.

While most barcode solutions are developed for specific devices and operating systems often forcing customers to change their entire warehouse infrastructures to accommodate barcoding, SYSPRO CyberScan sets a new standard for operational flexibility. SYSPRO CyberScan is browser-based; therefore, it operates with any hardware that runs a web browser. It is optimized to run on PDA Barcode Scanners, but can run on a PDA, desktop PC, laptop computer or even a cell phone. No software installation is required, vastly reducing the maintenance required to keep the system operating optimally.

According to Brian Stein, SYSPRO USA CEO, "Though browser-based, SYSPRO CyberScan adheres to all the security rules inherent throughout the SYSPRO product."

King Bros. Industries (KBI), a Valencia, Calif.-based manufacturer of high-quality PVC, CPVC and acetyl ball valves, implemented SYSPRO CyberScan to move product with better visibility and accuracy. According to Kim Wilson, King Bros. Controller, "We needed real time accuracy in our inventory. When stock was put into inventory it would be written down, often incorrectly, and someone would have to key the data into the system. We looked at several scanning systems, and one of the reasons we chose SYSPRO CyberScan is that it is browser-based, meaning we could use it with our existing desktop PCs and laptops. Also, we liked the fact that we didn't have to install additional software to run CyberScan. Now, we pull all stock for shipment and do warehouse transfers using SYSPRO CyberScan. The result is that shipments have been more accurate, and sales personnel can tell the customer exactly where their order is. If it's being picked, the sales order query screen says 'picking in process.' If the order has been picked but not shipped, the sales order query screen says 'picking complete.' Then, when the order ships, the shipping information is posted to the order, and customers can be informed about the status when they call in."

SYSPRO CyberScan utilizes the inherent built-in SYSPRO security and the application of SYSPRO updates is hassle free. In addition, the SYSPRO CyberScan solution can process transactions with or without scanning equipment. With access to entry fields and buttons, operators can simply key in the data.

According to Joey Benadretti, SYSPRO USA president, "SYSPRO CyberScan takes advantage of the latest browser-based technology, and the screens are user friendly and navigationally follow standard SYSPRO logic. SYSPRO CyberScan was developed in response to the many SYSPRO customers who requested a highly intuitive, cost-effective barcoding solution."
