Symbio Group Appoints Dr. Fenn King as Chief Operating Officer


SAN JOSE, Calif., and BEIJING, March 11, 2009 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- The Symbio Group ("Symbio") today announced that Dr. Fenn King has been named Chief Operating Officer, to lead its project delivery and human resources organization. Bringing more than 30 years of operations expertise, Dr. King's extensive experience includes leadership roles with MediaRing, i2 Telecom International Inc. and IBM, where he spearheaded the company's first software business team in China. Prior to joining Symbio, Dr. King was Senior Vice President and Asia Pacific General Manager for i2 Telecom International, where he grew the VOIP business in China and formed the Asia Pacific distribution sales channels. Before i2 Telecom International, he served as Senior Vice President of MediaRing, a leading VOIP service provider in Singapore, where he was the first executive to generate 10 million minutes/month, a significant feat in the industry.

In 1978, Dr. King started his career at IBM, where he was a system programmer at IBM's Poughkeepsie, N.Y., facility and then moved into marketing at the company's New Jersey office in 1980. During his career at IBM, Dr. King led the Johnson & Johnson account and provided sales software solutions to accelerate J&J's growth in the hospital services area. In 1994, he moved to Beijing, where he developed and managed IBM's first software business team in the Asia Pacific region--a team that contributed more than $10 million (USD) in revenues.

In addition, he graduated from the Everest Marketing Summit, a program held by the MBA School of Monash University, Australia and was also a member of the IBM president's class, held by Harvard Business School.

Dr. King is also one of the founders of the IDUG (International DB2 Users Group) and an Adjunct Professor at California State University, where he offered courses in Finite Mathematics, Excursion in Mathematics, Economics, Statistics and Algebra.
