Sutherland Adds Insurance and Financial Services Partner in New York

Sutherland Asbill & Brennan LLP announced today that Dodie C. Kent has joined the firm's insurance and financial services practice as partner in New York. Prior to joining Sutherland, Ms. Kent was Associate General Counsel at AXA Equitable, where she served as the company's principal legal securities advisor regarding its variable and fixed life and annuity product lines.

With more than 20 years of experience as corporate counsel in the financial services industry, Ms. Kent advises on product design, marketing and administrative issues as they relate to variable and fixed life insurance and annuity products. She also has particular experience counseling on related regulatory compliance and enforcement issues. She focuses on many novel and complex insurer initiatives, including the de-risking of legacy product offerings; the design and regulation of index-linked investments; ssues related to the use of volatility management; and the simplification of variable annuity disclosure.

Ms. Kent's in-depth knowledge of these topics and tenure as corporate counsel provides her with a practical, results-oriented understanding of insurance companies' internal processes and competing business inputs related to product development, distribution and administration.
