Strix Wins Korean Intelligent Highway ProjectStrix Systems (News - Alert) won the deployment for Korea's intelligent highway infrastructure project with it's Access/One Outdoor Wireless System (OWS). The 3,000 kilometer stretch of highway is a multi-phase, multi-year nationwide highway project between Korea’s two largest cities of Seoul and Pusan utilizing wireless mesh networking technology for delivery of multimedia applications to and from consumer and public safety vehicles. “We have not seen such a large area deployment of wireless mesh network with WLAN  technology in the world.” said Kim, Hongchol, Manager, Korean Highway Corp. at the interview with Korea Electronic Times on May 26.TTA (News - Alert), Korean public standard organization, hosted testing performed by the WLAN highway project of Korean Highway Corp. All major industry competitors were included in the testing. Many dropped out when they couldn't complete the tests, however, Strix Access/One OWS achieved more than double the backhaul throughput and also reset the expectations for the maximum speed test threshold from 100km/h by exceeding 180km/h.“Strix wireless mesh solution is impressive.
