Stoltenberg Consulting To Feature Interactive Robot Maker Interbots; Will Address Healthcare IT Staff Shortages And Trends at HIMSS12, Booth #1434

(PR Web Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Pittsburgh, PA (PRWEB) February 14, 2012 Stoltenberg Consulting, Inc., a leading healthcare information technology consulting firm, will highlight its strategic approach to addressing and overcoming obstacles in EMR implementation, including the introduction of a Junior Consultant Program, from its booth (#1434) at the HIMSS12 Annual Conference and Exhibition, Feb. 20-24, in Las Vegas. Specializing in consulting for hospitals for implementations of Epic and Soarian systems, Stoltenberg also will feature some new healthcare technology from its home town – Pittsburgh-based robot maker Interbots will demonstrate its award-winning robotic characters and PC/mobile apps.

“Popchilla,” a robot aimed at children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), makes first HIMSS appearance Interbots fuses traditional entertainment principles with robotic technology to create engaging, emotionally expressive interactive robots. What started as a school project turned into Quasi, a sophisticated animatronic puppet that entertains and delights children, and most recently, Popchilla, a consumer and kid-friendly robot designed for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD).

Combined with an iPad app, therapists and parents are able to guide Popchilla through a variety of activities that help children with ASD practice social referencing skills such as focusing on faces, recognizing emotions and responding to directives.

Junior Consultant Program Addresses Hospital IT Staffing Shortages As meaningful use deadlines approach, hospitals are faced not only with a challenge of meeting these specific requirements, but of ensuring that they have optimized as many resources as possible, including training of staff on new systems. With hospital IT staff shortages, the challenge of lack of resources becomes top of mind, and most hospitals are not equipped to develop an effective and immediate solution.

As a result, Stoltenberg has created its Junior Consultant Program to address those needs and concerns and provide hospitals well-trained consultants who can offer superior knowledge of the application, well-honed people skills and project knowledge, and complete understanding of the big picture.

Stoltenberg will present additional information on this program during a CHIME focus group, “Staffing the Next Generation,” at HIMSS on Feb. 22, noon – 1:30 p.m.

“As consultants, we fully understand the obstacles that healthcare professionals face and are always exploring ways to optimize our resources and expertise to help these professionals during their time of transition, whether it is training the organization’s staff, or implementing an electronic health record (EHR) system,” said Sheri Stoltenberg, CEO of Stoltenberg Consulting. “With new industry- and government-mandated standards come challenges and setbacks, and the Stoltenberg team is prepared to work with all types of facilities – small or large – to help them to achieve these standards.” To speak with Stoltenberg consultants, visit booth #1434 at HIMSS12. Stoltenberg will also provide a full coffee and espresso bar at its booth during exhibitor hours.
