Spring Training Underway with H. Jay Enck and the BECx Collaborative

ATLANTA, May 5, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- H. Jay Enck of Commissioning and Green Building Solutions, Inc. (CxGBS), the well-regarded Holistic Commissioning ® consultancy group for high-performance buildings, works with BECx Collaborative to train others on building enclosure commissioning.

H. Jay Enck, Founder CxGBS

Commissioning for building enclosures requires a vast amount of knowledge, training, and resources. It is even more challenging to remain abreast of all the new requirements, best practices, and technologies. BECx was founded to aid others in the field as well as building owners and contractors.

This spring, Enck, in conjunction with BECx, is hosting training sessions. In April, Enck led a seminar for the Building Enclosure Commissioning Ozarks Regional Chapter in Springfield, Missouri. Enck will be at Iowa State University's Center for Building Energy Research from May 9 to May 12, conducting an all-encompassing workshop called Train the rainer.  The workshop will cover everything from an introduction to codes as they relate to commissioning to the future of commissioning.

May 16 to May 18, Enck travels to the 2016 National Conference on Building Commissioning (NCBC) in Indian Wells, California. He'll present an intensive pre-conference session. This course includes many prerequisites for commissioners and engineers, such as enclosure system testing, risk management and project team roles and responsibilities. Case studies and exercises will be provided to help illustrate various applications of the construction phase BECx tasks.

Why does Enck spend his time conducting these seminars? When asked, he explained, "The design and construction of the building enclosure affects energy efficiency, occupant satisfaction, and durability of the building. Over 50% of claims against architects are related to moisture intrusion through the building enclosure. Education is key to helping owners, designers, and contractors reduce risk, improve their bottom line and create high performing buildings right from the start."
