Spain : SPAIN inaugurates revamped national institute for cybersecurity [TendersInfo (India)]

(TendersInfo (India) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Spain has inaugurated its revamped national institute for cybersecurity (INCIBE) in the northern city of Leon. The inauguration was done by Spain's telecoms minister Victor Calvo-Sotelo.

Earlier, INCIBE was known as the national institute for communication technologies (INTECO), which has been renamed to better reflect its new focus on cybersecurity.

With an employee base of around 100 people, INCIBE is responsible to detect and warn regarding cybersecurity threats. It works with Spain's security forces and the main public and private organisations managing critical infrastructure (gas, electricity, water, transport, telecommunications and finance).

Also, INCIBE will advise public and private institutions and citizens on internet fraud, viruses, phishing and other cybersecurity issues.
