Soneet Kapila and Barry Mukamal combine to form new consulting firm [The Miami Herald :: ](Miami Herald (FL) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) April 23--Soneet Kapila and Barry Mukamal, South Florida-based forensic accountants and insolvency advisors, said Wednesday that they are joining together to form a new consulting firm, KapilaMukamal, LLP. Kapila and Mukamal will be co-managing partners of the new firm, which will open May 1, with offices in downtown Miami and Fort Lauderdale. The new consulting firm will concentrate on Kapila and Mukamal's niche in fiduciary and insolvency services, including restructuring, forensic and investigative consulting, and litigation support services such as expert witness testimony. The firm will also offer business valuations and matrimonial forensics. As sitting members on the Panel of U.S. Chapter 7 Bankruptcy Trustees in the Southern District of Florida, both Kapila and Mukamal regularly serve in fiduciary roles including chief restructuring officer, corporate monitor, examiner, Chapter 11 trustee, liquidating trustee and receiver. Kapila & Co., CPAs, founded in 1993 by Kapila, has focused on insolvency, fiduciary and creditors' rights matters. Partners and staff joining the new consulting firm include those from Kapila & Co.'s Fort Lauderdale office. Mukamal, based in Miami, has been providing forensic, insolvency and business valuation services in South Florida for more than 36 years.
