snom technology Propels Expansion Course with New Majority Shareholder HeidelbergCapital

BERLIN (February 12, 2015) snom technology AG, headquartered in Berlin, developer and manufacturer of high quality IP telephones, has acquired a new anchor investor. Through its private equity fund II, HeidelbergCapital is now the majority shareholder of snom. The resulting increase in capital stock is considerable and will lay the groundwork for the consistent expansion course at snom that the new executive team is committed to. The new board has three members: Nadahl Shocair (CEO), Thomas Müller-Braun (CFO) and Olivier Gerling (CSO).

“We want to use the funds to intensify new product development and also continue to drive globalization,” explains Nadahl Shocair. The native Texan has lived in Berlin for decades and is a world renowned expert for business transformation. “snom is already a company with an international focus,” says Shocair. “Our staff members come from 15 different countries, and we have distributors in more than 50 nations creating a strong global footprint for snom.” HeidelbergCapital purchased shares from former investor Beaufort Capital GmbH in July 2014. Paving the way for a capital increase, HeidelbergCapital is now the majority shareholder at snom. André Deloch, partner at HeidelbergCapital and Chairman of the Board at snom, emphasizes the long term growth interests related to the investment. “We do not want to just invest in snom,” explains André Deloch. “It was important to us to complement the current expansion course by obtaining extensive funding commitments. That is the reason for the capital increase. We want to support the future development of new products and modern software as well as drive international expansion at snom,” says Deloch. “We are of course delighted with the great international team headed by Nadahl Shocair that will shape snom's future.” Nadahl Shocair, the new CEO at snom, has 20 years of experience in the field of business transformation in the ITC market. Born in Dallas, Texas, he has lived in Berlin for more than 20 years. Examples of positions he held during this time: directing strategist and interim CEO at DeTeWe in Berlin, Germany and Hemel Hempstead, England; interim director at Boomtel Networks in Ascot, England; executive director, strategy & business development at Centile in Cannes, France. Prior to entering snom, he was CEO at Silicon Allee, the community-driven voice for startups and technology companies in Berlin.
