Smile Stacker app boosts children's hospice ; SOFTWARE [Bristol Evening Post (England)]

(Bristol Evening Post (England) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) A SOFTWARE company has used its computer wizardry to create a new games app to raise money for Bristol's terminally ill children. Smile Stacker is a colour-matching game based on the Children's Hospice South West's famous smile logo.

It is the brainchild of Barnstaple-based Triden Elite. The firm came up with the idea after seeing the CHSW's banner at a quiz night.

Lex Barrow, sales director for Triden Elite, said: "The actual concept came from one of CHSW's banners where the smiley faces seemed to be hugging. After the initial visual inspiration of the smiles grouping together the game took on a life of its own and that lead us to Smile Stacker." The game can be played by children aged three and over, as well as adults. It costs Pounds 1.99 and can be downloaded from Children's Hospice South West's website, the Apple Store, Google Play and Kindle store.

Triden Elite will donate Pounds 1.21 for every game sold to the charity, which has one of its centres in Wraxall. There will also be a weekly prize for the person who tops the leaderboard with the highest score. The overall winner will receive a prize at the end of the challenge period in February. Naomi Dymond, CHSW's corporate fundraiser, said: "We are all extremely excited about the launch of this brilliant new app and can't thank Triden Elite enough for all the time, energy and effort they've put into its design and creation. It certainly is an unusual and brilliant way to fundraise for us - putting smiles on faces is what we set out to do every day and this new game is certainly going to do that."
